Trip in Wrocław
Hello everyone,
During this article, I will tell you what I've done during my trip in Wrocław and some stories of different dwarfs that I've met.
I've done the trip with my girlfriend, and from the beginning we were just walking in the street going to the Hotel and we saw some dwarfs on the sidewalks, so we took pictures. And after having drop our luggages at the hotel, we walked to the Tourism Office and saw that there is a map with 60 dwarfs to hunt. So we took it and have complete all the map that you can see under. There is also the back of the map with the explication for each dwarf.

But after some research, we have found why there are dwarfs in Wroclaw. From the beginning there is only 1 dwarf (n°40), and he is just a statue made by an artist to his City. But after that there are different artists making some dwarf and putting them all in the City and around. And now there are more than 350 dwarfs in Wroclaw.
I’ve put at the end the photo of all the 62 dwarfs of the map (62 because there is 3 n°7). But i’ll tell you some story about differents dwarfs that we met and there are not on the map.
There is around the Opera differents dwarfs showing diffrents moment in the life of an Opera, and all this dwarfs are here to pay tribute to Heinrich Lichner, a German composer who was born in Silesia and died in Breslau. I can understand that you can ask me why I’m speaking about this guy, but in 1829 when Lichner was born, Silesia was part of Germany and so the City of Wroclaw got another name “Breslau”. Lichner is very famous all around the world because he made a lot of educational piano pieces, simple compositions written for beginners on the instrument.

But there is not only one map for dwarfs, there is another one with 40 others for the Island in the north of the City. As you can see above the dwarf n°34 is the KeyMaker to cell love between 2 people.

And there is a tradition on the Love Island : put a padlock somewhere on the island to cell the love.But on the Island there is a dwarf with the role to break padlocks for people who have ended their relationship. So you have to hide your padlock, if you want to be together forever.
